About

Paper Chair was founded by Joshua Steven Bryant and Delaney Smith-Vaughn in the Summer of 2025. As educators that work with creatives, and as artist themselves, they deeply feel the lack of studios, substantial funding, and visibility for artists in Denton.

Our town is rich in creatives, but we need the scaffolding and support to thrive. Paper Chair is committed to being the glue by providing essential resources and advocating for the arts in North Texas.

We are an artist-led organization, including our founders and board of directors. In addition to improving the lives of artists, we know that investing in the arts will benefit our community economically and improve physical and mental wellbeing of our town (Americans for the Arts).

By collaborating with local and regional art orgs, we share resources and have a stronger, deeper reach in supporting creatives.
