About the Juror

Felicia Jordan is a multidisciplinary artist based in Dallas, Texas, whose work delves into the intricate relationships between the physical, emotional, and mental experiences that shape our lives. Born and raised in Dallas, she trained formally at the prestigious Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts before earning both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from the University of North Texas.

Jordan’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in storytelling and healing. Working across mediums that range from traditional carpentry and textile-based works to modern digital fabrication, she transforms personal trauma, memory, and collective loss into physical objects. Her pieces often reflect on universal human experiences and encourage viewers to encounter empathy and connection through shared hardship.

Her work has been featured in notable exhibitions, including the Texas Vignette Art Fair, Materials Hard and Soft, as well as New York Jewelry Week. In 2023, Jordan was recipient of a Nasher Sculpture Center Artist Grant, recognizing her compelling series Atlas Shrugged…And Walked Away — a large-scale mixed-media work that blends quilted textiles and narrative stitching to give voice to stories often unheard in broader cultural conversations.

Through her studio practice, exhibited work, Jordan continues to expand the boundaries of contemporary art, using craft, materiality, and lived experience to provoke thought, conversation, and healing.
